Hanscom FCU's Financial Education Programs Win Excellence Award

Posted by Diana Burrell on Sep 14, 2018 8:42:22 AM

Earlier this summer Hanscom FCU was presented with the America Saves Designation of Savings Excellence Award in recognition of our member outreach during America Saves Week, February 26 - March 3, 2018. The award was given by the nonprofit Consumer Federation of America, which coordinates the week-long spring campaign.

Hanscom FCU focused its outreach this year on our military members. Our "Military Saves" programs included face-to-face conversations at nine events where our Partner Relations team members shared practical savings and investment strategies for service members, their families, and retirees. We even thought of the kids with a fun "Feed the Pig" event, where children were encouraged to paint and decorate piggy banks, then given instructions to keep their piggies healthy by feeding them "greens and minerals" at home.

The America Saves Excellence Award recognizes the important role that credit unions play in helping all families save money and build wealth, and rewards those organizations that go above and beyond encouraging members to save for the future. It's something our team is passionate about, so we're pleased to get the recognition.

Part of Hanscom FCU's charter is providing financial education to our members, free of charge, and right now, our Partner Relations team is shoring up its fall schedule of Lunch and Learns and booking events for Federal Benefits Open Season enrollment period, November 12 - December 10, 2018. Whether you need the basics of budgeting or you're confused about IRA rollovers, we've got a program for you...and there's absolutely no obligation to join our credit union. We'll even bring lunch! Just ask your Human Resources department give our Partner Relations team a call at 781-698-2093.
