I have to ask—do you know what an internet browser is? I mean, you are using one right now, I know, but can you tell me which browser you are using and whether it’s up to date?

Don’t be embarrassed if you have no idea. Instead, take a moment to learn. Why? Keeping your internet browser up-to-date is important for security and to ensure that web pages load properly.A browser is software on your computer that’s used to access the internet. When you click on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, FireFox, Safari, or AOL, you are opening a browser.  With a browser, you can easily search the internet and visit web pages, shop online, or log into your email.

If you’d rather watch a video about browsers, here’s a good (and short) one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrXPcaRlBqo.

Think of a web browser like a car that drives you to your destination.  You want the safest, fastest transportation, right? Not only that, but you also want the coolest features.

Fortunately, unlike a car, updating your browser is both simple and free. Please be sure to update all the browsers you actively use today. Here’s a list of browsers currently certified for our online services. Just click the link to check your browser and update it if necessary.

You can also use our configuration page, which includes hints on how to identify which browser you are using and details on how to set up each browser to use the full range of our online services.

Don’t neglect this important piece of online security. Updating your browser takes only a few minutes and can help you protect yourself from being compromised.

I’m glad we had this little talk. I feel much better now.
