For anyone considering buying a home, I have four do-it-yourself online calculators to share today. Credit for these goes to our financial partner, BALANCE. What I like about them is that they answer questions we all have when thinking of buying a home, and we can find answers simply and privately. So here are the questions with links to the calculators:
- How much mortgage might I qualify for?

By the way, BALANCE is a great resource for personal financial information, and you can contact a counselor there to discuss your questions and get financial advice. The toll-free number is 888-456-2227 and is available Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. (PST). On Fridays, the hours are 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. (PST) and on Saturdays, you can reach a BALANCE counselor between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. (PST). Note these are Pacific Standard Time hours.
