Hanscom FCU Named Air Force Credit Union of the Year

We're happy to announce that Hanscom Federal Credit Union has been named as the Department of the Air Force's Credit Union of the Year for 2017 in the $1 billion and above category. It's an honor that's given every year to an Air Force credit union that offers the highest quality financial products and services, as well as demonstrates membership growth and community support.

Hanscom FCU was selected because of our commitment to Hanscom Air Force Base service members and the surrounding communities. The credit union supports veterans throughout New England by providing volunteer service, recognition programs, and donations to organizations like the New England Center and Home for Veterans. Our strong commitment to financial education has also led us to receive the Designation of Savings Excellence for promoting and supporting savings during Military Saves Week 2017.

Chairman of the Board Paul Marotta and David Sprague, President and CEO of Hanscom FCU, accepted the award on behalf of the credit union during the Defense Credit Union Council's Annual Conference, which was held in Williamsburg, VA, last month.

“Given that our main office is on Hanscom AFB, our roots in the military community run deep,” said Marotta. “This award means a lot to us; we’re proud of our affiliation with the Air Force community and we’re only going to work harder to serve our military constituents with products and education that serve their unique needs.”

Sprague agreed. “It’s an honor to be chosen from among our peer credit unions serving military members. There are a lot of credit unions out there doing good things for our military service members and their families, so we’re pleased we’re in the spotlight this year.”

Hanscom FCU offers its members, military and non-military alike, a host of products and services, including free savings accounts and free checking accounts that offer awesome rewards; consumer loans and credit cards; investment and insurance services; and (free!) financial education at every stage of a member's life on topics ranging from saving for college and buying a first home, to debt consolidation and planning for retirement.

So thank you to the Department of the Air Force, as well as the Defense Credit Union Council, for this incredible honor. We promise to continue serving our members with fairness and integrity so they can achieve their financial goals.
