One of the most important things we do here is go into communities and companies to offer financial education, and one of the most encouraging teachers we have is Ferdousi Faruque.

Helping people improve their financial outcomes is Ferdousi’s passion – and career of choice. As a Relationship Manager for Hanscom Federal Credit Union, Faruque helps employees from member companies, organizations, and government agencies manage their money better. She does this through educational seminars, presentations, webinars and events.

“I love that I am able to educate and help people,” she said. “It’s really nice to be able to help people better their future — to help them see what their potential is or what they’ve already achieved.”

Ferdousi has been in the financial industry for the past ten years and with Hanscom FCU for six years. In addition to her busy schedule, she is also in school full-time to study marketing. The combination of her financial education experience and marketing education makes her for a perfect fit for the people she serves.

It’s not just adults that Ferdousi helps to educate about personal finances. Every two weeks, she gives a financial planning seminar to graduating teens at the Shriver Job Corps, a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 through 24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training.

“It’s imperative for kids to learn about financial education when they’re high school age,” Ferdousi said. “At Hanscom, it’s refreshing that we are about education, and what is in the best interest of our members. I’m fortunate enough to actually be able to teach these high school kids the financial skills they need to succeed.”

Ferdousi comes from a large extended family — she has 28 first cousins — and so has always been comfortable around both kids and adults. She is committed to “going above and beyond to make everyone feel included,” she said.

Ferdousi is one of the reasons our financial education programs are so popular. To me, she is a wonder woman who always has a pep in her step regardless of what she has on her plate. I encourage you to learn more about the work that Ferdousi and the entire Hanscom FCU team offers to companies as a benefit. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
